1. What are the benefits of the Hear Back

3. What are the best in-ear monitors for me?
- In ear monitors are like loudspeakers, one that has a relatively
flat response curve and makes your ears happy is the way to go.
Custom molded in-ear monitors are expensive, however, they are
more comfortable, afford better acoustic isolation and will ultimately
serve you best.
For users that cant start off with the expensive models
of in-ear monitors we offer the affordable Hear Bud + Headset
as an entry level solution.
- There are a number quality custom and non-custom in-ear monitors
from several companies.
To name a few: Shure, Sennheiser, Westone, Phonic Ear, Garwood,
Ultimate Ears, and Sensaphonics.
- Hear Back works with all wired and wireless in-ear monitors.

4. Can the Hear Back be used with conventional
floor monitor wedges?
Absolutely! Professional level balanced line outputs are provided
for driving power amps or powered monitors. Additionally, the mono
line out can be used to power throne thumpers. Clark
Synthesis is one of the companies who make such a device.

5. Why doesnt the Hear Back Mixer have
EQ?
If the talent equalizes their monitoring devices, (especially in-ear
devices) the resulting instrument EQ will be incorrectly adjusted
resulting in a less than desirable signal sent to the recording
engineer or front of house engineer.
Example: If the bass player is using a Preamp (without speakers)
such as a POD and were to add 10 dB of low frequency EQ to the personal
monitoring device, then adjustments to the preamp bass control would
be colored, thus sending a bad signal to the engineer.

6. What if I need more than the stereo mix and
six more mes?
You can parallel the stereo inputs (channels 1&2 on the analog
inputs) across multiple master Hubs giving everyone
the basic FOH or control room mix. Then simply route the more
me inputs desired to each master hub, which permits a system
of any size. See the large
system wiring diagram under diagrams on our web site. You can
easily realize system sizes of several thousand mixers and as many
more me mixes as your console can provide. Also remember
you have the Aux input for another stereo mix giving you ten channels.

7. What is the HearBus?
- The hear bus is an 8 channel bus that permits digital audio
to be run over 500 feet of CAT5E cable. It is used to daisy-chain
hubs, to connect Extreme Extender ADAT In and Out to each other
or to the hubs. It runs at 12 MHz and is optically isolated from
the next hub preventing any possibility for ground loops.
- The Mixer outputs on the hub are a combination of HearBus and
power. The mixer outputs can be run up to 200 feet. Each Mixer
output is short circuit protected in case a wire gets shorted
to a single mixer the remaining mixer connections are not affected.

8. What can I use the Hear Back Mixer Aux input
for?
- Drummer click track, drum machine local input.
- Local studio or stage sub mix input, such as a keyboard mix,
etc.
- For those who demand more control, the stereo out of a Hear
Back mixer can be sent to a second mixer Aux input, etc.
- Returning effects processors into a local mix without sending
it to the FOH or control room. See

9. What if I use digital console(s) and want
to implement multiple more me inputs?
Several digital console manufacturers have 16 channel sends that
may be routed to two different ADAT outputs. Simply connect our
Extreme Extender ADAT IN to the ADAT output of the console, connect
the HearBus output of the Extreme Extender to the 1st master hub
input and repeat to the second master hub input using another Extreme
Extender ADAT In to the second master hub. You now have 12 more
me inputs plus the stereo mix to feed up to 512 mixers. Thats
16 channels of audio from FOH or control room to stage/studio over
two CAT5E cables. Extreme Extenders are not required if the connection
is less than 10 meters which is the ADAT optical length limitations.

10. Are the headphone amplifiers powerful?
You bet! In fact, care should be exercised to prevent blowing
headphones, especially at low impedances below 100 ohms. The mixer
headphone amplifiers were designed to work across many different
loads and to have plenty of headroom to provide very clean power.
NOTE: Read the OSHA maximum recommended SPL ratings to protect your
hearing.

11. Can the HearBus or Hub Mixer output be
split or "Y" connection used?
No. Every connection should be point to point because the signal
is controlled impedance operating at just over 12MHz.

12. What can I use the Extreme Extender ADAT
IN and OUT for?
- Extending the limited 10 meter ADAT Optical signal an additional
500 feet, using both the Extreme Extender IN and OUT.
- Running from a digital FOH console to stage using a single CAT5E
cable
- Interconnecting recording studios using the ADAT format.
- The Extender IN has a buffered output of the input for connection
to local devices, while the ADAT OUT has two ADAT outputs for
distribution. See

14. What do I do if I need Service?
- Call the factory and get an RMA number NOTE: This is
required!
- Package the product in the original shipping box, or one that
will get the product safely to the factory, using large letters,
write the RMA number clearly on the box and send it to us. We
are not responsible for items damaged in shipment.

17. What powers the mixer?
